1. User's Manual
2. Data Base Guide
User's Manual
User manual for each individual module covers detailed functionality of that module. This manual is useful in deciding the scope of the IMMS and it's usage. This manual is more useful for the systems people in understanding the IMMS, configuration of the IMMS and selection of functions. The manual covers following.
- Diagrammatic representation of the module and its linkage with other modules
- Brief over view of the module, giving details of the objective of the module, etails of each function
- Details of IMMS setting and its implication.
- Policy issues. Guides the user on what he should consider while configuring the IMMS. For example IMMS supports Features and options. User has to take a policy decision on whether it is useful or not and if it is useful how to configure it.
- Sample report on dummy data.
User manual is required to be referred on how to use a specific function. This generally is required only after the user has already decided on how to configure the IMMS and what functions to use. The manual covers following
- Details of each function, objective of the function and its screen layout.
- Details for each field in the function, validation logic, possible values and cross-reference with other modules.
Data Base Guide
This manual helps user in understanding the IMMS in details. How and where the data is stored. This becomes handy when user has to customise or update the IMMS. The guide covers following
- Details of each field of the table with its type and length.
- Cross reference with programs and fields of other database.
Objective and usage of all above manuals can be summarised as below.
| Name of the Manual |
Primary objective |
Who should be using it |
| User Manual |

Glossary
Glossary covers important terminology used in the Users' Manual and User Guide and their explanation. For example the term 'net requirements' might get used many times in MRP user and student manual. Glossary defines 'net requirements' in details, like what is it, how is it been calculated, how does it change etc.
Updates / Revision change
Whatever changes take place after the customer has bought the IMMS is supplied to them in the form of revision change. At each major change the revision change takes place. The customer has the choice to enter into maintenance contract. If the customer has entered into maintenance contract they get the revisions free of cost. The change in the user guide is supplied in the form of updates. These updates are the same pages of manual but with changed content marked as underline.
User training, Implementation Support, Modification & Software Support
The training and support is supplied in three phases.
Phase I: Initial training on IMMS
Phase II: Implementation support
Phase III: Modification support
Training:
Ideally a batch of 2 people should be trained on each module. Exact number of days required for training for each module is as follows. Training will be conducted at SourcePro's training facility.
The objective of this training is to provide knowledge of IMMS, its functionality and configurability. This training is conducted using Users' manual. Systems people are expected to participate in it. Based on this training what to use from the IMMS is decided.
Implementation Support
During implementation customer is given handholding support. This takes place in two phases pilot and live implementation. During this support the user is taught how to use a specific function, what are the validations, what are the possible values for each field. During this support period user works on its own database and takes out sample reports. This gives them confidence of using the IMMS. During this period the modification issues come on the surface. This support is provided to the actual users.
Modification
If the customer decides, SourcePro can take up the modification of the IMMS also. This service is on chargeable basis. Minor modifications/changes in the IMMS highlighted by the customer during IMMS Study phase will be incorporated in the IMMS without additional charges.
Software Support
A Software support-providing bug fixes patches and revisions on the same product are covered under Software Support agreed. This support is for one year from the date of implementation. |
