Concept
IMMS works on ERP principle. Unlike traditional MRP (Material Requirement Planning) packages, which calculate component requirements, IMMS provides time-phased requirement for each component. It uses lead-time for each component and calculates requirement for each component for each period. This process takes into account other resources like capacities and cash flows as well.
Entire IMMS is focused on giving on-line information on all the resources. Any change in demand and supply equation of any component is instantly reflected in the change of its requirement. Necessary actions are triggered by the IMMS automatically. IMMS is a decision support system providing instant access of resources data.
